3 Simple Stretches That Will Increase Your Height

Stretching is a great way to ensure that you are the maximum height you can be. Bad posture will certainly decrease height but by practicing good posture and stretching often some people have been known to gain an extra inch in height.

Stretch 1 – The Cobra

For this stretch you lie down on the floor facing down with the palms of your hands on the floor just under your shoulders. You then arch your spine and lead up with your chin. Try to arch back as far as possible and then hold the position for between 5-30 seconds and then relax. Repeat this for 8 repetitions or more.

Stretch 2 – Touching your toes

This is a hard one and not many people can do it but it is great for improving flexibility and posture. Just stand tall with your hands above your head and then bend down and try to touch your toes but keep your legs straight. At first it is OK to bend your knees a little and you will gain in flexibility the more you practice this stretch until you don’t have to bend your knees at all. Each repetition can last been 2 to 5 seconds.

Stretch 3 – Hanging

You will need a pull up bar for this stretch. It is extremely simple to perform, you hang from the bar allowing gravity to lengthen and straighten the spine. Narrow grip is easier to perform than the wide grip. It is recommended you hang for up to 30 minutes a week. As you get stronger progress to the wider grip and even add a weight belt to increase the pull on the spine.
